Darryl was born on the Tundra of Labrador. When spring thaw came, he jumped on his dog sled and mushed his way to Toronto to pursue his dream of being an actor.
 
Darryl’s screen credits include Covert Affairs (USA Network), Patchtown (Official Toronto International Film Festival selection), Scott Thompson’s Fruit Blog, the Webby nominated Out With Dad, PSA with Oscar The Grouch, Masculathon, Stars Gone Wild (MuchMusic), To Die Four (CBC), Chaseism (MOBIfest honourable mention) and Heat Meter (MuchMore). He has been in over 30 commercials, most famously as a Sponge Pocket for Sponge Towel Paper Towel.

On stage Darryl is a founding member of The QCC comedy troupe, has starred in Psycho Circus as Boris, is the co-producer and co-host of The Wet & Sticky Show at Second City Toronto Late Night Stage, and has Co-hosted The Talent Show.  He produced and performed in the monthly comedy stage show Unckey Darryl’s House of Sketchola and their 2005 Fringe Festival show, Sketchola! The Musical. He is a regular performer at Toronto’s hippest comedy shows The Loner Show and The Talent Show. Darryl has been a main stage cast member of TheatreSports/Bad Dog Theatre, and has co-founded The Lamb Chops, a musical improv troupe that was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award, and Healing With Laughter, a fundraiser for the Innu Healing Foundation. Darryl was also a top finalist on FunnyOrDie.com’s “Pierre Trudeau Said There’d Be Days Like This” contest. He has been featured on USA Today’s Popcandy.

Darryl has taught and performed across the continent from the Institute for Child Study at The University of Toronto, Labrador Creative Arts Festival, Newfoundland & Labrador High School Drama festival, to the SAK Improv festival in Orlando, Florida.  He has also done corporate work for Rogers Cable and Rogers Wireless.
